S St. Elizabeth's Cathedral is the largest church in Slovakia and a significant Gothic monument in Central Europe. It stands in the heart of Košice on Main Street and is the cathedral of the Košice Archdiocese. Its construction began in the 14th century and lasted for more than 130 years. The cathedral is 60 meters long and 36 meters wide, with a 59-meter northern tower. Inside, with a capacity of over 5,000 people, stands the main Altar of St. Elizabeth featuring 48 Gothic paintings.
